Volkswagen: The next Polo will be sold also in the U.S.

As revealed today by Automotive News, Volkswagen has finally decided to bring its next Polo (which we will see in Geneva in March), even in the U.S. market away from the traditionally lower segments of the market and compact cars in general.

To communicate was the head of product development Ulrich Hackenberg, who in Detroit pointed out to colleagues overseas as the segment of small is the fastest growing in the U.S. market. The crisis has had the beneficial effect, according to Hackenberg have made the Americans discover an unexpected interest in cars cheaper and economical.

Even the current fall in prices of petrol in the United States will be able to change things: the one currently in place between the American consumer is a more radical change, structural and not influenced by surface dynamics. Especially as Hackenberg is convinced: "You will see the price of oil will return soon to rise ..."

The German manager, stating that there was still no final decisions in that regard, he added that the Polo for the American market could be produced in the Mexican plant in Puebla. As regards the date of marketing were not released statements.
